View Madeira from above
At last Google Earth has (satellite) images of the island of Madeira. Although these are not very recent images as some of you might notice …. but it gives a very detailed view of the houses, roads and other buildings on the island.
Have a look at a few snapshots I have made from Google Earth:
What is Google Earth?
Google Earth is a free-of-charge, downloadable virtual globe program. It maps the entire earth by pasting images obtained from satellite imagery, aerial photography and GIS over a 3D globe. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
Visit http://earth.google.com/, download the software and visit places from above … you might even see your own house.
Update
The images can also be seen within your browser via maps.google.com. Click on the following link to go directly to Madeira Archipelago. My thanks to Anton (macnetz) for the notice.

It’s not only Google Earth – Google Maps has the same satellite images from Madeira. With Google Maps you can see the images within your browser. http://maps.google.com
