We are so sorry and saddened by the catastrophe that has hit Madeira. We have been several times to Madeira on holidays and have another planned. We love the island are are talking of retiring there.

Can anyone tell me if Garanjau has been affected?

We plan to come on 17 March and are sure that the Madeiran spirit is alive and well!

A lot of my family is from Monte and luckily none have died or been injured. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who have lost family members. To me, Madeira is truly the most amazing place in the world, I still can't believe what has happened. It hurts to see all of the pictures of the destruction. I hope lots of other people from Australia and around the world do what they can to help the awesome people living in Madeira.
