Is Madeira just for oldies?

Those who says that “Madeira is just for oldies” have not yet discovered the real Madeira! On the other hand it could be that they are our loyal visitors that are saying this in order to keep this beloved destination a secret

Watch the promotional video of Rui Martins (RumaVideo) and make your own conclusion:

By the way … most the oldies are relaxing in the city … while others are on adventure elsewhere on the islands.

Magnificent Madeira

This is one second most beautiful video of Madeira Island that I have come across on the Web. This video is entitled “Magnificent Madeira” made by Pavel Masek from the Czech Republic.

This video is truly a homage to the Madeira Nature and a perfect example how one should be celebrating its beauty.

Madeira Flower Festival – Festa da Flor 2012

Pico Ruivo is the highest peak on the Madeira Islands. It can be reached only by foot, usually either from Pico do Arieiro (3rd highest) after a strenuous hike, or from Achada do Teixeira with a shorter, easier trail. There is an additional trail leading west to Encumeada. Just below the summit is a hut offering simple accommodation and drinks.

Pico Ruivo is 1862 meters (6107 ft) high [1] and provides some of the most incredible views of the island from coast to coast, but unpredictable weather conditions can make it quite dangerous

Madeira Nature … a Festival of Colors and Biodiversity

Madeira … a Portuguese archipelago, that is the outermost region of the European Union, has a very high green biodiversity, and in combination with the ocean, mountains and sky it creates a real festival of colors.

Madeira is known as the “Flower Island“, but instead it would be more fitting to call it “The Green Pearl of the Atlantic Ocean” with its 13,010,405,091,801 type of green colors it holds. If you do not believe it, then come over to Madeira and count the colors green yourself.

The Cherry Picker from Jardim da Serra

A beautiful video created by Heitor Rodrigues of a Madeiran cherry picker (apanhador de cerejas) Sr. Agostinho of the village Jardim da Serra.

Enjoy the serenity and un-stressfulness when Sr. Agostinho picks the cherries to sell them at the Funchal Market (Mercado dos Lavradores). Next time you buy and eat a Madeiran cherry …. remember this video.
